The Scarecrow Festival is an ever popular annual event in Ballinahown. Taking place in the school garden of St Colmcille NS, it quite the spooktacular sight attracting a steady stream of spectakers, locals and visitors alike.

Pupils of the national school, along with their families,, embrace the festival with Halloween-themed scarecrows displayed in the school grounds ahead of the midterm break each year.
