Ballinahown has introduced a very successful “Leave No Trace“ initiative, which has enabled the community to eliminate the need for litter bins and their consequent removal has been noted as ‘quite an achievement’. Additionally, there is an active litter management plan and litter picking rota and new volunteers are always welcome.
Our Green officer works closely with local children and families to promote and develop our Junior Tidy Towns. This is a really important initiative in Ballinahown as we strive to model community involvement, sustainability and a commitment to biodiversity to our youngest citizens.
