Monday 13th June – Tidy Towns judging begins
Ballinahown’s 2022 application for the National Tidy Towns competition was registered in May. Judging takes place from mid-June through to August and we never know when the judges are calling to the village
Tidy Towns is not just about litter-picking and keeping a place neat and tidy. In fact, the primary focus of Tidy Towns is to encourage communities to improve their local environment and make their area a better place to live, work and visit
To continue doing well in Westmeath and to improve nationally requires the entire community getting on board
So, what can we do to help???
- keep front areas/kerbs etc weed free
- please don’t spray any weed killer
- use pollinator friendly planting in pots and window boxes
- pick up any litter you find when out walking
- keep village and approach roads free from litter
AND if you are available on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm over the next few weeks, come and join us at the Hall as we focus on litter picking and tidying up around the village
