Ballinahown has a very active Tidy Towns committee made up of children of all ages from the local primary school. Their aim is to support a sustainable way of life in Ballinahown and are engaged in projects such as tree planting, litter picking, growing their own food and general care and maintainence of the village.. They are actively involved in discussions with teachers on renewing the Green Flag status of the school.
